Sailing - it's what the Pultneyville
Mariners Club is all about!

A few catamarans and Sunfish on the beach for a rest.
All members are encouraged to own a sailboat. Beginning in May,
boats are tuned and shortly thereafter a racing series begins and runs
through September. Special events are scheduled throughout the
year, including some one design regattas attracting competitors from
around the local area. Not all members are racers, but are people
who love sailing and sharing summer fun on the shores of Lake Ontario.
Some members are learning to sail, and Pulneyville is an ideal location
because of it's unique harbor, which is sheltered by a peninsula and
breakwall protecting the area from prevailing westerly winds.
This makes the beach at the club an excellent place to launch and
land any type of beachable sailboat. If a beginner should have a
question, there is always a friendly and experienced sailor nearby to
lend a hand. Indeed, the club's tradition of training new sailors
has made it an institution in the Rochester area. For members'
safety, the club maintains a volunteer Sail Patrol, with a fully
equipped motor rescue craft to deliver immediate help.
